Kendall is two months old!

Kendall Paige, you are two months old!  It has been the best 2 months.  It is so much fun to see your personality start to shine through.  It is a little sad to see you growing right before our eyes.  You have come out of the newborn fog.

You love to look out the window!

You had your 2 month appointment last Thursday.  At your visit you weighed   11 lbs and 5.5 oz.  That’s in the 85th percentile.   Your head circumference was 15 3/8 in. that is in the 60th percentile.    Does someone already have the big head?  You are 22 1/8 inches long.  That is in the 70th percentile.  Your appointment also included some yuck shots!  You handled them like a trooper but it still broke your momma’s heart!  Don’t worry; you got them back by peeing all over their table!

You are still eating every two to three hours.  You have gone from being completely bottle fed to mostly nursing.   Your eating preferences change from day to day.  One day you love nursing and the next you are not a fan!  Momma can’t figure you out, but we keep trudging on with it!

You’ve had a major accomplishment this month.  You have started sleeping through the night!   Party at the Jones’.  You will sleep from 9 or 10 o’ clock at night until 7 or even later in the morning if Momma lets you.  At night, you are a pro at going to bed.  You are still in a bassinet next to mom and dad’s bed.  You still like to be in a swaddling blanket.  We lay you in the bassinet while you are still pretty awake.  You are quiet as a mouse for 15 to 20 minutes as you travel off to dream land.  During the day, you are not a big fan of naps.  Momma has to work with you a little more to get you to rest.

You are totally on a schedule.  It’s called the “Kendall does what she wants, when she wants” schedule.   Typically you will take a small nap in the morning.  Then a 2 hour nap in the afternoon.  Momma tries to lay you down so that you will be getting up when dad gets home.  Maybe soon we can get on a little better schedule.

You are still wearing size one diapers.   You’re in a wide range of sizes in your clothes.  It totally depends on how it is made.  A dress you wore the other day was a 6 to 9 month.   However, you are mostly wearing 3 to 6 month clothes

You are still a really good baby.  In the afternoons you are getting a little fussier.  Your pediatrician told us that is pretty common.  You will probably go back to the old Kendall after you are 3 months.

You are still a huge fan of baths in the kitchen sink.  You typically have one leg propped up and out the side, silly girl.

You are not a fan of tummy time.  You will pick your head and chest off the mat but it really ticks you off!  You are usually screaming after 5 to 10 minutes!

We are still reading books together, and you are still not caring….Momma can keep wishing.  Your fish faces are getting a little less common. Momma and Daddy will miss those if you quit all together.

You are starting to smile.  At first when you’d give a grin, we couldn’t tell if it was on purpose or not.  Now they are getting more obvious.  Momma had to leave you with dad for a few hours the other day.  When she gave you a goodbye kiss, you gave her the biggest smile yet.  Momma thought it was so sweet until dad decided it was because you were getting left with him.

We  had your baby dedication this month which was really important to Momma and Daddy.  We can’t wait to see how God uses you.

At only 2 months old, you are already the biggest blessing.  We love you!

Now for a little comparison:
