Moving on up!

Well it is official....we're sort of moved in.  We have been staying/sleeping here since last Saturday night.  We aren't 100% moved but are planning great things for this weekend!  And who really needs living room and dining room furniture.  Supper tastes just as good while sitting in the spare bedroom on leftover floor padding!   Here are some pictures of our beautiful hardwood.

I took those this evening before the great trim painting marathon, which was to prepare for the great trim hanging tomorrow.
I'll post more pictures of the other rooms if I ever as soon as I get them unpacked and organized.  :)

Happy Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday to my buddy's-lovin, hard workin, popcorn munchin, hardwood layin, sleep deprived sweetheart!

Now join with me in the Hallelujah chorus as we celebrate the end of night shift!  *wink*

P.S.  Happy B-day to Josh (who officially has more gray hairs than me!) and Renee also!

House Update

The Bedrooms now have carpet.  This is a view of one of the spare bedrooms.

These are two different views of our bedroom.

I tried to get a picture of my Bee-utiful shower curtain but it is hard to get a good picture in the bathrooms because of the lighting.

They started laying hardwood today in the living room.

I saved the best for last.....My absolute favorite room of the house!
I'm loving the color of my dining room/kitchen.  You can even see a glimpse of my chandelier.

Because I tend to procrastinate on the things that I should be doing

I made a second bucket sign because I wasn't completely satisfied with the first.....now I can't decide which to use!

Reason Two that I'm Still in the School Twilight Zone

Because I'm already thinking about next school year!  I painted Mr. Bucket yesterday. The inspiration is from this book:

It's a great program teaching kids to "fill" each others buckets (kind words, polite, etc.) as opposed to dipping from one anothers' buckets.  The only problem is my bucket looks more like a pot.  We might  be filling each others pots next year :).

I totally snatched my idea of painting Mr. Pot/bucket from Mrs. Babbling Abby.  She rocked one last year for her classroom.

The post with no pics and no point

I have thus far skipped the normal hooray-it's-summer-being-a-teacher-rocks post.  Between working at the house, attending an inservice day already, and teaching pre-k summer school next week I feel like I'm stuck in the school twilight zone (much like Bro.Tony and Josh in the front of the church van driving to Mexico).  I'm expecting at 2:00 on Thursday afternoon, when we send the last pre-k kid out the door to be singing the happy chorus.
