Before and Afters of Our Home Sweet Home

I've been waiting until the house was "finished" to show updated pictures....Since that is looking like that is years away, I thought I'd post an update as to where we are now.

Outside: After

Not much has changed on the outside.  Michael changed the front (and side) light.  We had it pressured washed.  And a nice new ADT sign since we had the system reactivated. We probably won't do any landscaping until Spring.

We didn't have to do much in the kitchen except paint the walls and trim.

Living Room 1:  Before

Living Room 1: After
In the living room we painted the ceiling, walls, and trim, installed hardwood flooring, got rid of the out dated ceiling fan, and bought new furniture.  We will probably change out the light again.  It doesn't give off enough light.

Dining Room 1:  Before

Dining Room 1: After

We painted the walls, and trim.  Added vertical blinds to the sliding glass door.  Added hardwood floors. And replaced the ceiling fan with a chandler.  I have some ideas for black accessories in here.  And a new dining room table (can't blame me for dreaming big).  We still have a few electrical outlets to replace in here.

Spare Room 1: Before

This room hasn't got much attention.  We painted and added carpet.  I have two chairs in here that belonged to my nanny.  I plan on getting them recovered and using at least one of them in the living room.  We also have a second spare room.  We are using it for storage so I'm not posting pictures of it yet.

Our bathrooms are small.  We painted them both yellow.  We hope to do mini-redos in the future...replacing the flooring and vanities.

We still need to replace the closet doors....just keeping it real for you blogger friends!

This is Michael's current project. He is building me a pantry!  I'm so excited about it.  He has it framed in and is working on filling sheet rock.
And there you have it.  Our little Casa.

Moving on up!

Well it is official....we're sort of moved in.  We have been staying/sleeping here since last Saturday night.  We aren't 100% moved but are planning great things for this weekend!  And who really needs living room and dining room furniture.  Supper tastes just as good while sitting in the spare bedroom on leftover floor padding!   Here are some pictures of our beautiful hardwood.

I took those this evening before the great trim painting marathon, which was to prepare for the great trim hanging tomorrow.
I'll post more pictures of the other rooms if I ever as soon as I get them unpacked and organized.  :)

Becoming Home

Things have been busy at the new house.  We have had lots of help and have made lots of progress.  We still have a ways to go but we're getting there.

The green floor by the front door....GONE!  (Thanks Steve)

See the Yuck Carpet......GONE!  (Thanks Michael and His Dad)

Next up is the pee corner.  Seriously, take Fido outside!

It has been changed to this...

To this...And hopefully to a lovely painted corner real soon!

These lovely duckies were swimming around the top of the master bathroom.  They didn't want to come down!  I really feel attached to them and have thought about doing the whole framed-pink-bunny-in-Jessie's-room-on-Full-House-thing.

Thankfully the seed packages weren't rooted as deep.

I don't have pictures of the painted ceilings and closets.  But Wendell totally knocked those out along with mowing the jungle yard.

I hope these pictures haven't made it look like a dump.  It will be very nice after we get all the cosmetic work finished.  It doesn't feel like home yet....more like a demolition zone.

Oh yeah....the best part of the house?

Yep...that's Jesus waiting on the porch.  Ok. Totally inappropriate but don't say it doesn't make you smile a little.

All joking aside.  I'm so thankful the Lord has allowed us to buy this house.  I've had such a peace about it.  And can't wait to make it home.

Look for more updates coming soon!
