Kendall is 15 months old!

I thought it would be appropriate to do a Kendall update today since she is now 15 months old.  Time is flying by!  She is so much fun at this age.  And while we have some hard days, the good days far exceed those difficult ones!

She has started feeding her baby a toy bottle...beyond cute!  Her favorite toys are her books, her fisher price car, picnic basket, and play house.

She loves her blankie.  We make her leave it in her crib during the day while at home.  She usually ends up with it when we are out and about.  We play many a game of peek-a-boo with it.

She loves to climb up on  the couch.  No fear with this one!

She is still the champion eater.  Recently she has been eating so many finger foods that she's decided she doesn't want Momma feeding her at all.  We tried letting her eat mashed potatoes with a spoon the other night.  It was super messy but she did get a few bites in.

She has a couple of teeth coming in right now.  She's had those same eight teeth for awhile so we're excited about the additions.  More to chew with.

She still sleeps 12 to 13 hours each night.  Her naps are different every day.  I'm just following her lead on them.  Some days she takes 1 long nap, and some days she takes 2 shorter naps.  A lot of it depends on what we did the day before and if she was in bed on time or not.  She goes to bed between 7 and 8 on a normal night.

She is wearing size 4 diapers now.  Her dresses and skirts are all 24 months.  Her PJs are 18 months.

Her hair has really seemed to fill in, in the last few months...not really longer but noticeably thicker!  And my favorite part is that the ends are starting to curl up.  I've always wanted a curly head little girl!

She likes dogs and has her own unique bark.

She can say Momma, Dadda, bye-bye, bite, baby, and  hey-ya.

She has decided that walking is over-rated and has no immediate plans to start.   :)

It seems like we grow to love her more and more each day!

Good Friday at Dollywood

We spent Good Friday at my happy place.  We had a great day with just our little family.  We watched several shows, ate junk food until we were sick to our stomachs,  and enjoyed a train ride.  The highlight of the trip for Kendall was the carousel,  which she rode twice.  She cheered the whole time she rode it with me.  :)

She spotted her Momma.  :)

My favorite days are spent with these two!

Easter 2014

I love Easter and celebrating the resurrection of our Lord!  We had a great time this year.

Saturday evening we dyed eggs.  Kendall is still a little little for this but we enjoyed it anyways.

I read online that using a whisk would help small kids.  Great idea but we needed bigger cups with more dye.  The dye wouldn't cover the egg this way so we resorted to the ole hands, and hoped they stain would wash off!

This was my best attempt of Sunday Morning pictures.  This girl is one hard cookie to photograph. It wasn't helping that the neighbor's dog was out and barking!

We had a great church service.  We love our church.

2013...she was so little last year!

After church we went to lunch at my mom's house.

My favorite baby items--The Sick Edition

It's been a long time since I've done a "My favorite baby items" post.  Since we are finally over the yucky RSV I thought it would be perfect timing for a sick version.

1.  Stuffy Nose Wipes--I love these wipes for snotty noses!  I used them a ton and Kendall never once had the sore red nose from all the wiping.  I buy the Parent's Choice brand which is a little cheaper than name brand.

2.  A good thermometer.  Ours isn't this exact one but it is Mobi brand.  I love that it can be used on the forehead or in the ear.  And it helps that it is super fast.

3.  A humidifer to help with breathing issues.

4.   The Nosefrida....this is a must have!  Love this thing for snotty noses.  And yes, you put one end in your mouth and suck.  And no, you can't possibly get snot in your mouth.  There is nothing gross about it.  It is wonderful because it gets all the snot out of her nose.   Oh and check out the bulb pic.  Now that is gross.  Seriously, switch to Nosefrida!

5.  Hyland's Baby Cough Syrup--self explanatory!

6.  And finally for fever....infant Tylenol.  One day when Kendall was at her worst we had to alternate with advil to keep her fever down.

If you would like to see my past favorite baby items:

Things have changed a lot since 4 months, I may be back soon with a more recent updated list.

Twins Baby Shower

We are excited that things seem to be going well for my brother, his wife, Renee, and the new twin boys.  The boys are at home now, thriving, and all are doing great!

A couple of Saturdays ago, my sisters and I hosted Misty a baby shower.  This may be the second dorkiest thing I've said on the blog, but I love showers.    And this shower was especially special because it had been long waited for.

Thanks to everyone who was able to come and share in this blessed time.   It means so much to our family. I'm kicking myself once again, because I didn't take too many pictures.  Maybe one day I'll learn to hand my camera over to someone who will take a few!

Here are my few from that day:

Quick Updates

I really do hate when I go awhile without blogging.  The days seem to be flying by me.

I am 10 weeks pregnant.  And we are super excited.  I've had a relatively easy pregnancy so far, but I felt like I did with Kendall also.  It actually surprised me when my doctor mentioned me being high-risk. With Kendall I didn't have any problems until the last few days before I delivered.  So far I might have had 2 days where I felt nauseous to the point that I needed to lay down...other than that I've been super tired but that seems to be getting better.  Guess that means I need to start cleaning house again :), I'm gonna miss that excuse!  I had an ultrasound 2 Fridays ago, and everything looked pretty good.   The heart rate was 170 which makes me think girl again.  Then last Friday I saw my OB for my first official appointment.  Looks like around 32 weeks she's gonna make me start taking it pretty easy to help prevent early labor. I think not working outside the home will help with this. Also, I have to buy a blood pressure cuff and she's gonna start watching for signs of preeclampsia early on.   I love my OB and love that she's on top of everything!  She also mentioned my due date being close to Halloween, which I hate!  She laughed and said she'd thought we'd be doing good to make it until the beginning of October, when I'll be 36 weeks.  I'm just praying that if I deliver early again, that this baby will be big and healthy like Kendall was.  The hospital I deliver at doesn't have a NICU which means the baby would transferred without me, boo!

Kendall girl is as rotten as ever.  She is 14 months old.  She'll be almost 21 months when the new baby comes.  She's still not walking...so stubborn!  She has been a really sick girl since the end of last week.  I took her to her pediatrician on Monday and found out it was RSV.  :(  We've been doing breathing treatments and she hates them! We had a re-check at the doctor yesterday and her breathing sounds better so we can start weaning her off the breathing treatments.
She lost weight from refusing to eat.  Thankfully that seems to be picking back up.  This was the first morning that I felt like she ate as much as she was before RSV.   And last night was the best she slept in almost a week, so I might have accompanied her in sleeping in a little :).

Sorry for the post with no pics.   I hope to get my new camera out a lot this Spring.  I'm not as comfortable with it as I was my one one.  I need some practice.
