The Mothers Day of a Lifetime Contest is on. Click here to vote. Or you can go to Star1021fm.com and find it there under contests. Mom's letter is #5. Tell all your friends, family and co-workers. I'll be sending an email later tonight when I have more time.
I read through all the letters and they are all good. Sounds like all these women are deserving. Of course I want mom to win. Knowing her and her circumstances the last month makes me want her to win just alittle bit more than the others. However if she doesn't this was still fun.
I do have one complaint....it was suppose to be a 100 word essay. Some are way longer. I could have said so much more if I had had more opportunity!
If you don't know about mom, read her story here.

Sunday's Scriptures
Then she fell on her face, and bowed herself to the ground, and said unto him, Why have I found grace in thine eyes, that thou shouldest take knowledge of me, seeing I am a stranger?
And Boaz answered and said unto her, It hath fully been shewed me, all that thou hast done unto thy mother in law since the death of thine husband: and how thou hast left thy father and thy mother, and the land of thy nativity, and art come unto a people which thou knewest not heretofore.
The LORD recompense thy work, and a full reward be given thee of the LORD God of Israel, under whose wings thou art come to trust.
Then she said, Let me find favour in thy sight, my lord; for that thou hast comforted me, and for that thou hast spoken friendly unto thine handmaid, though I be not like unto one of thine handmaidens.
--Ruth 2:10-13
What young girl doesn't love the love story of Boaz and Ruth? I am no different. And just like Ruth found grace in Boaz's sight, so have I found in the Lord's sight. This truth really stuck out to me this morning and throughout today after the choir sang, "Come Thou Fount". One of the lines say, "Oh to grace how great a debtor, daily I'm constrained to be." How true this is. Everything I am, have, will be, will have, EVERYTHING, I owe to him. What a great hope!

Wandering from the fold of God;
He, to rescue me from danger,
Interposed His precious blood.

Any one up for Vegas?
I know as Christians we don't believe in luck. But I'm really starting to feel lucky! I'm on a roll with winning things.
It started with Family night. Remember the egg dyeing? Before we began there was a PTO meeting. At every PTO meeting they have a drawing for a teacher and parent winner. Guess who was the teacher winner...Yep, a $25 walmart gift card.
Next came the teacher bobcat buck drawing. I won it last Friday. I haven't claimed my prize yet but I hear it's usually a gift card to a restaurant.
Now for the winning I'm most excited about! Actually I haven't won yet, but am in the top 10 now. A few weeks ago I was listening to talk radio (100.3) and heard the contest "A Mother's Day of a Lifetime" announced. So I went online and wrote a 100 word paragraph about why my mom is great. During church tonight I received a voicemail that out of over 200 entries, They were choosing 10 and my was one of the top ten. Monday these 10 entries will be posted online for people to vote for the best. They will narrow these to 3 and read these on the radio. They will pick the winner from these. So come Monday I'll be calling on all my BFF's, relatives, friends, co-workers, church members, and strangers to help us vote. If you know my mom, and the circumstances she's faced in the last month you will know she's very deserving. Oh the prizes...a teeth whitening (a $700 value), a five stone mothers day pendent and chain, three oil changes, 3 hours of legal assistance, five bottles of wine (mom is so not a drinker), the dress of her choice, a facial, manicure, pedicure, and massage.
One thing that may be a small problem....if she wins they will call her on Friday to speak on the radio. After surgery, her voice is really altered and she can be hard to understand. She may need a translator.
So tune in Monday....

Have you ever been a fishin on a bright and sunny day?
Where does the weekend go? It always seems to fly by and I feel more behind the next week then I did the week before. Friday night was Kindergarten slumber party night. Yeah you read that right. I know...C.R.A.Z.Y!!!! I actually got a lot of school stuff done after the kiddies went to sleep. It was a productive night. But I've decided staying up all night is for the birds! I'm still behind on my sleep.
Saturday I went fishing/reading with my sweetheart. It was a perfect date. He fished while I read several chapters of this:
Stopping only briefly to catch a few pictures of the catch (Ha!).
Sunday's Scripture
My Goal of the Week:
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
--Philippians 4:8

Learning to Wait and to Trust
“Father” I gasp “Are you sure this was your will?”
As doubt spills from my lips, all around me is still,
The tears start to flow, as the hurt consumes my heart
What is he doing? I wasn’t ready for this part.
I question: Chastisement? A trial? A Test?
I pray in my heart, This can’t be for the best.
I search all around me, Everything starts moving so fast,
Life is just a blur, oh the shadows it cast.
I wait for the Lord to calm all my fears,
The devil starts to question, “Does he really hear?”
Then the wind blows, just not like before
A soft gentle breeze, but to me, so much more
I hear the Holy Spirit as he takes my hand
“Don’t fret dear child, I’ll help you to stand.”
So through my hurt, my faith grows so strong,
God knew what he was doing, he is never wrong.
In this life worry and pain are a must
But oh what joy, learning to wait and to trust.
But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Good Friday
Wooo Whooooo!!!!! Friday is finally here. It's been a super long week, with a lack of posts.
Monday we had family night at school which involved around 60 kids, 80 ish parents, 720 ish boiled eggs, and around 50-ish cups of dye. Does life get any better? We (teachers) were guessing how many spilled cups of dye we'd have. I was way off with my 11 cups because I only saw 2.
It will grow these:
Seriously, I have 20 kindergartens who will have my back on this one. I hear that it works best around Easter. Need futher convincing:

And just when you think it can't get any better, wait until you hear what we are doing next Friday night.....
BTW did you know that if you plant these:

And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

Evening at Mom's
We went up to see mom tonight. She is in so much pain...it breaks my heart. I hate seeing her like that. Please pray for her mouth to heal.
I took this morning picture out mom's front window. I really like it. I looked out to see Wendell and Michael having some serious bonding time....cute....cute! Seriously, My family likes him so much better than me. I don't blame them though.

What's up with Vampires playing baseball?
Ok I just finished Twilight. I really enjoyed it...well all except the baseball game. That was just weird to me. I sent Michael to books-a-million today to buy New Moon. It was his first time ever buying a book at the book store. I'm excited to get started in it. I've set a personal goal to read at least 24 books this year. I'm running a little behind schedule. I'm thinking I'll catch up quickly with the twilight books.

Absolutely Nothing
That's what I did yesterday....nothing....zip.....notta. It was so nice and restful. I honestly feel like a new woman. And when I realized how good I was at doing nothing, I decided to ask Michael if I could be a stay-at-home wife. He took a sweeping glance at the dirty house, laundry on the couch, and pizza boxes and on the counter and gave me a quick "no". I'm kinda of sad about that. Guess I'm over-qualified at the job--go figure! I did devote some time to these two things. I actually finished the book between cat naps. Anyone else reading Twilight? I was actually way more into it than I thought I'd be. Pretty addictive. Like Amber, I had to keep telling myself that Edward, Bella, and James were just make-believe. It made it easier to go pick up the pizza that way.
