Kate is 1 Month Old!

Kate Alaina, you are one month old!  

This may have been the fastest month of your momma’s life. Seems like just yesterday we were rushing to the hospital.

 

Your looks have changed a lot this month.  At first you looked a lot like your big sister did, not so much now.  You don’t have a lot of hair but what you do have is a lighter brown than the rest of the family.

 

At your 3 week check up you weighed 8 lbs and 5 oz (30%), you were 20 1/4 inches long (25%), and your head circumference was 14 inches (50%).

 

     You are a terrific nurser!  You are all about eating!  During the day you eat every 2 to 3 hours, usually closer to 2 than 3.  After a couple of nights of getting up every few hours, we started a loose schedule this week.  Since then you have been sleeping 5 (sometimes 6) hours before your first feed and 3 more hours before the next.  Momma is appreciating that! We will work more on the schedule this month.  You like to be swaddled for sleep.  You are sleeping in a rock-and-play in Momma’s and Daddy’s room.  

You are a cuddle bug.  You loved to be held, rocked, and cuddle.  You are not much for being on your own.  Daddy says you were born spoiled.  You do not like your normal bassinet and only like your swing for short periods of time.  

Your newborn clothes are starting to get too small.  You are wearing some 3 months now.  You are still in a newborn diaper but are about to move up to size 1.  

You may want to keep your future husband from reading this, but during diaper changes you like to surprise mom with projectile poop!  You are really dangerous.  

You like your bath time.  But dislike drying off and getting dressed afterwards.

We were so blessed to have you added to our family one month ago.  Daddy, Momma, and Kendall all love you soooo much.  You are a beautiful baby.  We are already so proud of you.  We can’t wait to see what God has in store for you.
