I ♥ Snow Days!

I am currently enjoying my third snow day in a row. Since I'm assuming it'll be the last (for now) I'm planning on enjoying it! Actually I now believe that all snow days should come in at least threes! One day to be lazy, one day to clean and catch up on home duties, and one day for projects.  Hopefully I'll be completing some projects to share on my blog real soon.  So in the main time, while I'm off to craft and paint and cut, I'll leave you with some pictures from snow day 1 of lazy sledding.

Beyond the Grave

Browsing through Obituaries morbid past time? the other day, I stumbled across a portion of one that really got my attention.

Born June 17, 1925, she was saved at a very young age in an old brush harbor meeting in --------, and was still a member of ----------- Baptist Church, founded by her husband. She loved sewing and helping others. She was a faithful pastor’s wife, as he labored to pastor several churches in East Tennessee. As a wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and great-grandmother, she personified Proverbs 31 (KJV).

What a testimony.  I loved it and It really got me thinking about what my loved ones will write about me.  What will yours say?

Maybe I should write my own now....

I'm naive.  But even I'm not naive enough to think that you care about what books I read last year.  This post is simply for me.  I'm taking my 2010 Book List off the side of my blog.  So when I'm sitting around in a couple of years wondering what I read in 2010,  I'll have documentation.

Pigeon Forge Trip

In between Christmas and New years, Michael and I spent an afternoon in Pigeon Forge.  It was his mom and dad's thirty fifth wedding anniversary.  We met them for dinner at the Apple Barn.  I only had my small camera.

After dinner Michael and I went on to Dollywood and had a freezingly wonderful time.  No photos.

And on the way out we swung by the Smokies stadium to watch the light show.  My picture doesn't do it justice!

I love sweet date nights with my babe!

Our Christmas Photo for Two Thousand and Ten

Michael and I have celebrated five Christmases together. For each year I have a framed photo of us. Here's the pictures that I'll be choosing from for this year.   I realize to the untrained eye they all look the same...

My favorite.

The last of my Christmas extravaganzas posts!

We left the snow covered McDonald and headed to my mom's around lunch time on Saturday.  As usual the house was packed with family.

My extremely cool papaw ruppe has a box of used shot gun shells.  He puts a paper into each shell to tell what he killed with it, the date and the time.  Looking at this kept the boys busy for a while.
