October Camping Trip Part One

We were thrilled that we were able to take a fall camping trip.  We went Monday-Friday of last week. This time we went to Pigeon Forge.

 We stayed at Up the Creek Campground...which was too cute. We had the best time! This will be picture overload, so I will divide it into 2 posts.

 We loved how much room we had behind the camper and the cute lil creek.  

Silly Momma forgot to bring a blanket to the photo shoot.  It was a fight the whole time keeping leaves out of this cutie's mouth!

    About 2 minutes after we picked her up, she got choked.  It was hands down the most scared that I have ever been!  I ended up with my fingers down her throat, and she threw up, then all was well again.   All we can figure is that she managed to get a leaf in her mouth we didn't catch.   Lesson learned!

Kendall is 9 Months Old!

Kendall Paige, you are 9 months old!  Only 3 months away from the big first birthday!   Ekkkkk!

 

   You are a eating machine.  You'll eat as much as we will feed you.  We have started feeding you some table food this month, in addition to your bottle, and baby food.  You tried Spaghetti (which you did not like the texture), apple, biscuits and gravy, mashed potatoes, and small bites of chicken & turkey.  You completely gave up nursing this month, with your first cold.  

 

   You have 5 teeth now!  2 on the bottom, that are shining in some of these pictures, and 3 coming through on the top.  

 

 

    You think you are big stuff crawling all over the house!  You are just starting to pull up.  You can get on your knees, and occasionally your feet.  But you are super unsteady with it!

 

 

    You are still taking 3 naps, but I won't be surprised if you cut back to 2 this month.  You sleep 12 to 13 hours at night, which Momma thinks is wonderful!

 

 

  You love sleeping, especially in your own crib!  You are great to put yourself to sleep!  You like to suck your two fingers, and pull a small blanket up next to your face to cuddle.  

 

   You are still in the same size clothes: 12 month sleepers, 18 month dress, size 3 diapers.  You are wearing a size 2 shoe now.  

 

 

     You love "walking" by holding hands with someone helping you.  You tend to walk on your tippy toes.  

 

   You moved to a bigger car seat this month.  Still rear facing but sitting up taller and more leg room :)

 

    It's been a great 9 months! 

 

 

Randomness

    I'm feeling so much pressure to blog. On one hand, it's like the story of our life is gonna have a month-wide hole in it. One day, when we have silver hair (that is if I stop dying mine), we'll look back and wonder what we did the whole month of October 2013. Cause you know all old people sit around and read their old blog posts (just saying). And on the other hand, while we've been busy, there's not much blog-worthy.  

   So thus, you get a post with all the random thoughts churning in my head, and lots of commas that I probably don't need.  Oh and bullets, because they make smile!

• We are in the middle of a Laundry Room redo.  We are updating it's look, and making it more practical with a little bit more storage.  Translation:  Paint and a Shelf.  I'll post pictures when we are done.  In true Jones' fashion, this week project, has already turned into two, and will take a few more.  Until it's done then my guest room looks like a storage building.  It's bad.    
   
• Kendall is crawling all over the house.  But it's still an army crawl.  I'm not sure she'll get up on her knees.  I hear most genius babies skip that step (j/k).                                    

                  

• Kendall has learned what "no no" means.  Not that she always applies what she knows.  We are working on that.  This morning while I was working in the kitchen, she reached up to grab the cord to my mixer (which meant a sure knot on the ole noggin, when the mixer made contact)....at the first "no, no" she turned and crawled away.  I'm all about the small victories!  If only it was that easy every time!

 

• We had our first family pictures taken Saturday.  Kendall was in a VERY serious mood.  Like, we're pretty sure she didn't smile ONE TIME!  But I'm still super excited to get them back.

  

• A week from today, my baby will be 9 months old! Kind of makes my heart hurt.  Oh and she decided she was finished nursing.  :(  

• I'm getting super busy with the Christmas Plays at church.  Yes, I said playS.  What was I thinking?  Which brings me to, if any of my real-life friends have extra phone books or newspapers lying around, I need them!  I have major paper mache projects I'm about to tackle.  I need lots of fake coal :).  

 

• Kendall has started trying to pull up.  She can get on her knees by herself, but needs help to pull all the way up to her feet.

•  

• My shelf and growth chart are still not hung in the nursery....

 

• Would you think I'm weird if I admitted I have lots of blog posts ready for December?  See, stick around...there's more coming.

Quick Pics

 

    It's been 3 weeks since my last cell phone dump. But I haven't took many cell pics. 

    We had to break out the humidifier this week.   Kendall has her first cold.  I kept her home from church yesterday.  She's on the up and up now.   I'm getting in the holiday spirit with the hand towel underneath it.  :)  Also once I get Michael to hang that shelf, and one other thing, I'll post pictures of the Nursery.  Is it sad that she's 8 months old and we are just now getting the nursery wrapped up. 

   

If you are reading my blog, you probably already realize that spelling is not my specialty.  But even I cracked up when I saw this sign on my chiropractor's building.  Makes me giggle to think, the person who wrote it probably says it just like that.  Another perk of TN living :).

Thankful

Today I am thankful for this lil family of three. 

 

     I never want to take for granted all God has given me.  I appreciate a husband who goes to work everyday so I can be home with our lil girl.   He is so good to think of us before himself.  I'm also thankful for this cute little face.

Sweet Sweet Baby

We had a nice weekend. Saturday, we went to a local fall festival. While we only stayed 15 minutes (it was pretty small) it was good family time :) I knew the lightening was gonna be horrible but I still had to get a picture of the girl to document it. I may take her back to this display one afternoon. 

That evening we went to Wendell's and my mom.  I had Michael stop at the barn on the way up for an impromtu photo session.  I got some of my favorite shots yet!  We also took most of her 8 months photos in mom's yard.

Sunday, we had a good day at church, with rest at home in between services.  It was just my kind of weekend with my sweet sweet family.
