Pigeon Forge

A week or two ago we were able to get away for a week and spend time in a cabin in Pigeon Forge.  Mom and Wendell were able to go with us.  We had a great time.  It was a slightly rainy week but it didn't really interfere with our plans.

We spent the rainiest day at the aquarium.   Most of my good camera pictures are from this day.

Easter 2015 Part 2

Easter Morning was spent in church as a family.  I love our church and being involved as a family.  After church we went to my mom's for lunch.

Kate is 6 Months Old!

Kate Alaina, You turned 6 months old on the 11th.

The one word that best describes you would be sweet.  You are such a sweet happy baby.  90% of the time you are content and easy.  You only fuss when you are hungry or sleepy.

You found your feet this past month and you think they are pretty swell.  Anytime you are laying down you are playing with them or if you are barefoot you are sucking your toes.

You also went through a thumb sucking spell this past month.  You got pretty attached to it, which Momma wasn't liking!  At the suggestion of a sweet friend, (Thank you, Mrs. Bonnie) we went through a two week period of putting socks on your hands when you slept and in the car.  Thankfully this broke you.  Now you will even suck on a pacifier for short periods.

Your six month checkup isn't until next week so I don't know your height/weight stats right now.

You have become very curious over the past few weeks.  And extremely grabby!  You will grab anything that is within your reach.

You are trying to roll from your back to your stomach, but you can't quite do it yet.

You are still a nursing champ.  This month we also have started cereal and oatmeal.  Truth be told, you are not a huge fan.  And you haven't totally mastered eating off a spoon.  Your tongue wants to push everything back out.  Baby food is in your near future.  And I think you are going to like it!

No signs of any teeth yet.

You can set up on your own for 10 to 15 seconds at a time.

Your schedule still is not set in stone.  Typically you will take a long morning and afternoon nap ( an hour and a half or longer).  Then a shorter evening nap (45 minutes or so).  You go to bed for the night around 7 or 8 but still wake in the middle of the night for at least one feeding.  You wake for the day at 7:30.  You are no longer swaddled at night.  I'm anxious to get you moved into the nursery this next month.  I think that'll help both of our sleeping.

You are wearing size 3 diapers, size 2 shoes, and 12 month clothes.

You are unbelievably ticklish.  Just trying to put lotion on you is hilarious because you cackle the whole time.

Your sister is still your favorite person.  You love watching her and when she plays with you.  I pray you will always have a special bond with her.

It's hard to believe we are half way to the big one year old birthday.  You are so special and so very loved!

Easter 2015 Part One

Easter is one of my favorite holidays.  I love celebrating and meditating on the resurrection of my Savior.  I'm so thankful to serve a living God.  I can't wait until my girls are big enough to understand.

Friday Evening we dyed Easter Eggs with the girls.  Kendall had already had a bath and was in her pajamas.  And My Kitchen was kind of a wreck because I was fixing lunch the next day for our families.  (Just felt like I needed to clarify all that).  :)

Saturday we had both sides of our family, along with a few friends over for lunch.  I love family days. (Too bad I didn't get a picture of my clean(ish) kitchen on this day.

The guys cut down a leaning tree in the back yard during the festivities.  Kendall rode in the back of the truck with Uncle Steve.

Another clarification... the rain boots were Kendall's addition to her outfit.
